The Sunset House

This duplex, steep up-sloping 3,500 square feet lot is designed to flexibly respond to the evolving changes in family over time: as a home with a rental unit, then a live-work environment, then a space for extended family.

The roof shell pays homage to the Griffith Observatory and the disk on the south façade symbolizes the sunset. Once built, both the east & west sides of the shell open to the roof decks with views of the Griffith Park Observatory, the fireworks at Dodger Stadium, the LA Skyline, and the Sunset.
